Thank you
When I first made Kach Again open to the public back in 2014, I never even dreamed it would ever become as widely used as it is now. Nowadays I average 2000 unique visitors and roughly 5000 pageviews daily, which are numbers I would never even have seen in my wildest dreams. On some scales, those are pretty small numbers, I admit - but for me, they're absolutely gigantic.
On several occasions I found myself thinking, "what am I doing this for?" "does anyone even use this?" "does anyone even know I made this?". Looking at my own manually updated raw HTML site, then looking at other sites and finding them better in terms of coding, automation, design, handling -- I often wondered "why do I still do this?"
But at the moment someone tells me, "your site is the only SIF resource I use daily", I realize this is what I'm doing it for. Even if updating is a pain because this site is made of raw HTML (and I suck), I'm still able to tell myself, "yeah, there are people using this."
Now I'm not saying I get this kind of compliment on a daily basis -- I don't really, but I think that's what makes it even more worthwhile. The fact that after working hard for some time, I can see someone say, "this one page is amazing", linking it to their friends, or someone saying "this site literally has everything." Those are some of the words that make it all worthwhile.
So this is why, 3 years after, I want to give back to the community that gives me so much every time. I chose Christmas, because it's a big present. And thus, Kach is proud to present you...
The Kach Again Android App
That's a lot of A-words in a row, but yes, you're reading this correctly! From the hands of someone who barely even understands JavaScript comes a fully functional Android application!

The main menu of the app
Android only for now, but if you're on iOS, you can use the web app from your browser!
Basically, since Kach Again never had a properly working mobile layout (actually, it doesn't even have a mobile layout at all), I figured it'd be time to get modern and finally build something useful for mobile devices. Because some of the pages of the site are just completely uncompatible with mobile at all, I gave up on trying to build a mobile design and thought about an app instead. I hit a lot of trouble and even started on the wrong foot but, after struggling a lot (and not without the help of Caraxian - go send him some love, he's amazing and the app wouldn't be here without him) I have finally managed to build an app.
Now for what the app actually has: well, almost everything Kach Again has, without the things that are not prone to mobile viewing (for ex. list of assets, extracts, clean cards, song sorter), but even better (for some reason), as well as some new things, such as a song database and a card database - huge thanks to Triangle (sif.kirara.ca) for letting me abuse his bandwidth in order to use card data.
More precisely, from the app, you can access:
- Event data
- Limited boxes data for those events
- Song database
- R drops per song
- UR pairs (with images)
- UR center skills
- Seal shop rotations (current and upcoming, both JP and EN)
- Card database
- Support cards list
- Idol sorter for ephemeral sense of entertainment

The event tab (here for JP)
The event tab will offer you data on the current event's cards as well as its song pool all in one place. There's also the limited boxes tab, where you can see the corresponding limited scoutings. Those are on two separate tabs because the event tab is already a bit long to load. orz

Song database (left) and rare drops (right)
The song database concatenates Kach Again's bond per song page and its song length page, to bring you detailed song-by-song data with, new information for Kach Again, song difficulty ratings and Full Combo per difficulty.
Unfortunately, filtering isn't available yet (this is version 1.0.0, give me a break TT) so you're gonna have to scroll through the entire list of songs. Fortunately they're ordered by release date, µ's first then Aqours. Better than nothing?
The R drops per song tab is also a bit more handy to use than its website counterpart, and shows which card drops from which song (only lists confirmed drops).

Card database (left) and UR center skills (right)
The card database is a poor excuse at making up for not being able to include the Perfect lock and Healer lists, as well as removing the cards by set/cards by girl from anywhere near the app's sight. While the database is also in beta stage, it means it only works through a manually set card ID and filtering isn't available here either, it still works fine and provides all the info sif.kirara.ca does (minus voice lines). Eventually when I can make filtering a thing, cards by girl will technically come back and cards by set is uh... another story entirely.
Last showcase for the UR center skills list, which will just show you which URs correspond to the center skill you're looking for. While it doesn't fulfill the role of "which center skill does this card have?" at a glance, like the webpage does, it still fulfills its role of "which guest centers can I use for my team?" which I think is the main thing this page is even used for anyway.
So, do you want it? Do you feel like you want it? Do you feel like you need it? (probably not, for that last question)
Then, look no further! The .apk is downloadable right here, from kachagain.com, because it's only like 8Mb! Easy life!
Now now, because the app is an .apk and not on the Play Store (for now, hue), you'll first need to allow external sources in Settings > Privacy, if you haven't done that already. Once that's done, click the link below on your mobile (or on desktop and then transfer the .apk to your mobile, but that sounds like unnecessary hassle. but don't let me tell you how to live) and install the app!
» download .apk on this page «
PLEASE NOTE: the data shown in the app is NOT updated automatically! while it will display updated data automatically, the data ITSELF still requires manual updates from me. which means the app only gets updated when I update the site, which might be sooner or later. as such, I will be using Push Notifications to notify you when the data updates are done, so you won't have to open the app every 2 minutes to check if the data has been updated. those are turned on by default the moment you open the app the first time, but you're free to turn them off in the Settings menu (cog on main menu).
If you're wary about app permissions, let me help:
- find apps on device: the app needs this to be able to send you Push Notifications. I don't actually get access to anything, it's just required because it uses the Google Cloud Messaging service.
- full network access: this is 100% required as the app needs to connect to either the kachagain.com server or the sif.kirara.ca server to display you any kind of data. the app will not work without an internet connection. well, it will, but the only thing you'll be able to do will be the Idol Sorter.
- control vibration, prevent phone from sleeping: honestly I'm not sure why that's here since there's nothing in my config like that but I assume it's also related to the Push Notifications services. the app itself doesn't prevent your phone from sleeping.
If you have any comments, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know! There's a Contact tab within the app, or just tell me on twitter @kachagain!
But once again: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS!
